The 2024 Chevy Traverse burst onto the scene this year with an all-new look, a new Z71 model with off-road features, and a long list of standard advanced safety features. It has a powerful new turbo engine, plus three rows of seats for up to 8 adults.

2024 Chevy Traverse Basics

The Chevy Traverse has a powerful new 2.5-liter turbo engine that creates 328 horsepower and 326 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s paired with a responsive 8-speed automatic transmission that balances power with efficiency, giving the Traverse a manufacturer-estimated 27 MPG highway efficiency.

The Traverse’s cabin accommodates 7 or 8 passengers, depending on whether you choose second-row bench seats or captain’s chairs. Standard comfort amenities include premium cloth seat trim and heated front seats. Tri-zone automatic climate control is also standard, so the driver, front passenger, and rear passengers can all choose separate temperature settings. And the Traverse has 97.6 cu. ft. of cargo space with both rows of rear seats folded, so it can haul plenty of gear.

What’s New for 2024

This model year marks a new generation for the Traverse, with a handsome new exterior, all-new engine, and massive 17.7-inch infotainment screen. The Z71 is a new adventure-ready trim that has standard all-wheel drive, an off-road suspension, tow hooks, and a skid plate. It also has distinctive styling features like Jet Black Evotex seats with red stitching and 18-inch gloss black wheels with all-terrain tires.

Chevy Super Cruise is available on the Traverse for the first time, which lets drivers go hands-free on compatible highways while the system manages steering and speed. There are also several advanced safety systems that are newly included as standard features, such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Side Bicyclist Alert.

Convenience and Tech

The Traverse comes with an AutoSense power liftgate that automatically opens when you stand behind it with your key fob. This feature frees you from searching for your keys or making gestures to access the cargo area. You’ll also get a 3-year complimentary subscription to OnStar Remote Access, which turns your compatible smartphone into an instant connection to your Traverse. Use it to remotely start your engine, lock your doors, or check on the fuel level before you head out.

Driver Assistance

With 17 advanced safety and driver assistance features standard, you can drive your Traverse with added peace of mind. These features include technologies that can help prevent a collision, like Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Braking. When you’re backing out of a parking space, this system uses sensors in the rear bumper to alert you if a vehicle is approaching from the side behind you. And if you don’t respond to the warning, it can apply the brakes automatically.
